Cusco airport is at 10,860ft elevation, which is higher than planes are pressurized to (~8k ft).
They gave us coca tea at the hotel in Cusco, which supposedly helps with altitude sickness.

Our second room at Hotel Marqueses in Cusco
In Cusco we stayed at the Hotel Marqueses which was originally a colonial house built at the end of the 16th century. This is the inner open air court yard. We had a room on the ground floor, then later a room on the upper floor.

Plazoleta Comandante Ladislao Espinar with La Merced. The church and convent of La Merced was built between 1657 and 1680.
I spotted serveral of these original VW beetles in Cusco.

Arco Santa Clara. It was ordered built in 1835 to celebrate the Confederation of Peru and Bolivia.

I saw a few signs like these on the ground in Cusco. I thought it might be a street sign, but apparently it points southwest to the Kuntisuyo region of the Inca empire.
