Starting our tour of the Tower of London. The grassy area to the left used to be a moat, but was drained in 1845. The gate is through Byward Tower.

Inside the Tower of London: Outer Ward. Water Lane leading to Bloody and Wakfield towers down on the left. Water Lane was created in 1275-85 by pushing back the River Thames.
