    Edinburgh Castle: Mons Meg cannon. Made in 1449. A 6 ton gun that shot 330lb gun stones. Argyle Tower roof the the right.

    View from Edinburgh Castle. The building with the clock is the Balmoral Hotel. The distant tower is the Nelson Monument (1807-1815, 100ft tall) on Calton Hill, an extinct volcano. The columns next to the tower comprise the National Monument. aka Edinburgh's Folly/Disgrace because money ran out before it was completed (1829).
